After the release of the last service pack for version 4.5 (SP 4.5.3), the question that seems to be in everybody’s mind is "What will be available in the next version?"

We will soon update this post to include the upcoming features. In the mean time, we are adding a small portion of the list here:

1. Improved workflows.  Workflows can be assigned or unassigned after a policy is created. (this provides more flexibility during the creation of documents).
2. Improved support for Word including the upcoming Office 2010/Word 2010. (this will enhance the document creation process).
3. Improved publishing capabilities. (this will allow to publish a document to require acceptance for some groups while others may need to take a quiz + acceptance or acceptance could be skipped – now is an all or nothing behavior).
4. Policies and procedures can be linked to an specific standard to improve regulatory compliance. (this will allow you to link a policy with a standard like HIPAA for example. This way a report can be executed to assess what part of the regulatory compliance standard is missing from your policies and procedures documentation).

Note: #1 and # 2 (the only exception is Office 2010 support) are scheduled for the next minor release while # 3 and # 4 are scheduled for the next major release later this year.
